Metformin, Rosiglitazone falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Pata De Vaca interacts with.

Animal research suggests that pata de vaca may have hypoglycemic effects. However, preliminary clinical research shows that pata de vaca does not reduce blood glucose levels. Until more is known, use with caution. Theoretically, concomitant use of pata de vaca with antidiabetes drugs might affect glucose control and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Avandamet combines two diabetes medicines (metformin and rosiglitazone) that both work to lower your blood sugar. Pata de vaca, sometimes called 'vegetable insulin,' has a traditional reputation for nudging blood sugar down too. So the concern here is simple: if the tea adds even a little extra glucose-lowering on top of your medication, your sugar could dip too low.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This is a theoretical caution. Animal studies hint at a blood-sugar effect, but early human research didn't show much. Still, if you do try it, watch for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, and don't change your Avandamet dose on your own.
