Phenethylamine (pea) + Erythromycin Stearate
Erythromycin Stearate brand names: Erythro-S, Erythrocin, Ethril.
We found no known interaction between Phenethylamine (pea) and Erythromycin Stearate in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Phenethylamine (pea) and Erythromycin Stearate
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Erythromycin Stearate and Phenethylamine (pea) in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Erythromycin Stearate
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Erythromycin Stearate is filed under 9 classifications — including macrolide antibiotics, cytochrome p450 1a2 (cyp1a2) inhibitors, qt interval-prolonging drugs. Phenethylamine (pea) has documented interactions with 2 drug classes — the most serious being monoamine oxidase inhibitors (maois) (moderate) and serotonergic drugs (moderate) — and none of Erythromycin Stearate’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Erythromycin Stearate page
“Erythromycin stearate (Erythrocin, Ethril) is an antibiotic that asks for real vigilance around supplements. It blocks the body's main drug-clearing enzyme, so the largest share of this list is herbs whose blood levels can climb while you take it.”

About Phenethylamine (pea)
What is Phenethylamine (pea)?
- Mood support
- Focus and concentration
- Energy and pre-workout boost
- Feeling of well-being
- Athletic performance
Phenethylamine (PEA) is a natural compound made in the body and found in foods like chocolate; supplements are marketed for mood, focus, and energy. Reliable human research on the supplement is very limited, and it may raise blood pressure or heart rate, so people with heart or blood pressure problems should be cautious and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
Not a plant part; a naturally occurring monoamine compound (made in the body and found in some foods) · Capsules, tablets, powders (often combined with other ingredients in pre-workout or 'mood' and 'focus' supplements)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Phenethylamine (pea) is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Phenethylamine (pea) record says about it on its own.
Phenethylamine (pea): dosing
There is no well-established or standardized dose for PEA supplements, and reliable studies on safe and effective amounts are lacking. Products vary widely in how much they contain and what else they are combined with.If you choose to try it, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Erythromycin
What Is Erythromycin Used For?
Brand names: Erythro-S, Erythrocin, Ethril
Erythromycin treats bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. Oral and intravenous forms are used for upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, pertussis (whooping cough), Legionnaires' disease, sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia), listeriosis, and other conditions. Erythrocin Lactobionate IV and erythromycin lactobionate injection are specifically for patients who cannot take oral medication or who need rapid, high blood levels due to severe infection — IV therapy should be switched to oral as soon as appropriate.
Erythromycin topical solution 2% and Ery 2% Pads (swabs) are indicated only for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris (acne) and are applied directly to the skin — they are not used for internal infections.
