Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Ephedrine, Hydroxyzine, Theophylline
Ephedrine, Hydroxyzine, Theophylline falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Phosphatidylserine interacts with.
Phosphatidylserine is thought to increase acetylcholine levels, which could theoretically interfere with the activity of anticholinergic agents.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The piece of this combo pill that matters here is the hydroxyzine, which is an antihistamine that also has anticholinergic effects. That just means it blocks a brain and body messenger called acetylcholine, which is part of how it calms allergic symptoms and reduces itching or anxiety. Phosphatidylserine is thought to nudge acetylcholine levels in the opposite direction (upward), so in theory it could slightly work against the hydroxyzine part and make it a bit less effective.
I want to be honest that this is mostly a theoretical concern based on limited evidence, so it is not something to panic about. It would not be expected to change the ephedrine or theophylline pieces. If you take this medicine regularly, just mention the supplement to your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
