Zopiclone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Polypodium Leucotomos interacts with.

Theoretically, Polypodium leucotomos might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro and animal research suggests that Polypodium leucotomos can decrease the metabolism of midazolam by a mechanism possibly related to the inhibition of CYP3A4. However, a small study in humans suggests that taking Polypodium leucotomos with midazolam does not affect the metabolism of midazolam.

Here's the gist for you. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down zopiclone, that sleep medication you take at bedtime. In lab and animal studies, this fern extract seemed to slow that same enzyme down a bit. In theory, that could let zopiclone build up slightly, meaning a touch more next-day grogginess, dizziness, or that bitter, metallic taste it's known for.

But here's the reassuring part: a small human study found Polypodium leucotomos didn't actually change how a similar drug was cleared. So this is mostly a theoretical, minor, unlikely concern, not something I'd lose sleep over. Still, it never hurts to mention both to your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you notice extra morning drowsiness.
