Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Butorphanol
Butorphanol falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Poria Mushroom interacts with.
Animal research shows that poria mushroom extract has sedative properties. This interaction has not been shown in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Butorphanol (Stadol) is a strong pain reliever that already tends to make people sleepy, lightheaded, and a bit foggy. Poria mushroom hasn't been shown to interact with it in people, but animal studies hint that this fungus may have its own mild calming, sedative effect. So the concern here is simple addition: pairing a sedating supplement with a sedating opioid could stack those effects together.
In plain terms, you might feel more drowsy, more dizzy, or slower to react than the butorphanol alone would cause. This is theoretical, not proven, so I wouldn't panic. Still, since butorphanol can already affect your breathing and alertness, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two, especially around surgery or labor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Butorphanol page
“Slowed breathing and deep sedation are the risks that tower over any opioid, and most of this list threatens to push butorphanol (Stadol), an opioid pain reliever, in exactly that direction. Of the 100 supplement and herbal ingredients on file, 78 add their own sedative pull, so this page deserves genuine care, not a skim.”

Poria mushroom (Fu Ling) is a fungus long used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, mainly as a mild diuretic and digestive and calming aid. Modern scientific evidence in humans is very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered well tolerated, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to a lack of safety data.
