Here's the simple version: this Copavin combination contains codeine, which is a pain reliever and cough suppressant that can make you drowsy. Poria mushroom, in animal studies, has shown mild sedative or calming effects. So the worry is that stacking the two together could add up and leave you feeling sleepier, foggier, or more sluggish than codeine alone would.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. This is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not something proven in people. Food-level amounts likely don't matter much; concentrated extracts are more of a question mark. If you notice extra drowsiness or slowed breathing, that's a red flag.
