Quercetin + Ivermectin
Ivermectin brand names: Stromectol, Mectizan, Sklice, Soolantra.
Quercetin has a moderate interaction with Ivermectin. Theoretically, concomitant use might alter the effects and adverse effects of P-glycoprotein substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Ivermectin
Ivermectin falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Quercetin interacts with.
There is preliminary evidence that quercetin inhibits the gastrointestinal P-glycoprotein efflux pump, which might increase the bioavailability and serum levels of drugs transported by the pump. A small study in healthy volunteers reported that pretreatment with quercetin increased bioavailability and plasma levels after a single dose of cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune). Also, two small studies have shown that quercetin might decrease the absorption of talinolol, a substrate transported by the gastrointestinal P-glycoprotein efflux pump. However, in another small study, several days of quercetin treatment did not significantly affect the pharmacokinetics of saquinavir (Invirase). The reason for these discrepancies is not entirely clear. Until more is known, use quercetin cautiously in combination with P-glycoprotein substrates.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for ivermectin and quercetin. Ivermectin gets shuttled out of your body by a transporter called P-glycoprotein, which acts like a bouncer pushing the drug back out of your gut and away from sensitive tissues. Quercetin, in concentrated supplement doses, may partly block that bouncer. In theory, that could let a bit more ivermectin stay in your system than expected.
If that happened, you might notice more of ivermectin's usual side effects, like dizziness, nausea, or feeling tired. I want to be honest though: this is mostly theoretical and based on small, mixed studies, not strong evidence with ivermectin itself. Food amounts of quercetin are very unlikely to matter. If you're taking high-dose supplements, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Quercetin
What is Quercetin?
- Seasonal allergies
- Antioxidant support
- Heart and blood pressure health
- Anti-inflammatory support
- Immune support
- Exercise recovery
Quercetin is a plant flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties found in many common foods and sold as a supplement. While early research is interesting for allergies, blood pressure, and inflammation, strong human evidence is limited for most uses. It is generally well tolerated in food amounts, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking high-dose supplements.
About Ivermectin
What Is Ivermectin Used For?
Brand names: Stromectol, Mectizan, Sklice, Soolantra
Ivermectin tablets (including Stromectol) are used to treat two parasitic infections: strongyloidiasis (a roundworm infection of the intestinal tract) and onchocerciasis (river blindness, caused by a parasitic worm spread by blackfly bites). These are prescription uses for serious infections.
Topical ivermectin lotion — sold under several names including RID One and Done, Head Lice Treatment Ivermectin Lotion, Scalp Care Lotions, and others — is applied to the scalp to treat head lice. A separate topical ivermectin cream (1%), available as Soolantra and ivermectin cream 1%, is used to treat the inflammatory pimple-like bumps of rosacea.
