Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Sitagliptin, Metformin
Sitagliptin, Metformin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Quercetin interacts with.
Clinical research suggests that a combination of quercetin, myricetin, and chlorogenic acid reduce levels of fasting glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes, including those already taking antidiabetes agents. The effect of quercetin alone is unknown.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: your Zituvimet (a combo of sitagliptin and metformin) already works to lower your blood sugar. Quercetin may nudge that same number a little lower on its own. So the concern isn't that quercetin changes how your body breaks down the medicine, it's that the two together could add up and drop your sugar too far.
Honestly, the evidence here is pretty soft. The study that showed a blood sugar drop mixed quercetin with other plant compounds, so we don't really know what quercetin alone does. Food amounts (apples, onions, berries) almost certainly won't matter. If you take concentrated supplements, watch for shaky, sweaty, dizzy, or foggy feelings, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

Quercetin is a plant flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties found in many common foods and sold as a supplement.
