ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Talinolol
Talinolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Quercetin interacts with.
Quercetin can modestly decrease blood pressure in people with mild hypertension. Theoretically, it might have additive blood pressure lowering effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Talinolol is a beta-blocker that helps lower your blood pressure and ease the workload on your heart. Quercetin, in concentrated supplement doses, may gently nudge blood pressure down on its own. So when you stack the two together, the worry is a simple additive effect, meaning your numbers could drift lower than expected.
If that happens, you might notice dizziness, lightheadedness, tiredness, or feeling faint when you stand up. Honestly, this is mostly theoretical and based on weaker evidence, and quercetin from everyday foods like apples and onions is very unlikely to matter. High-dose supplements are where to be a little cautious. Don't change your Talinolol on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your blood pressure readings.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Talinolol page
“Most of what talinolol does, slowing the heart and lowering blood pressure as a beta-blocker, is exactly what the supplements on this page can amplify or undo, so I would approach any combination here with genuine care. The largest share adds to its blood-pressure-lowering effect, risking dizziness, a slow pulse, or fainting, while a f…”

About Quercetin
What is Quercetin?
- Seasonal allergies
- Antioxidant support
- Heart and blood pressure health
- Anti-inflammatory support
- Immune support
- Exercise recovery
Quercetin is a plant flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties found in many common foods and sold as a supplement. While early research is interesting for allergies, blood pressure, and inflammation, strong human evidence is limited for most uses. It is generally well tolerated in food amounts, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking high-dose supplements.

Talinolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Talinolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Quercetin — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
