Here's the short version with your birth control pill (the estrogen and progestin combo in Logynon or Microgynon). In test tube studies, resveratrol can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which plays a small role in handling the estrogen part of your pill. If that enzyme is blocked, estrogen levels could in theory creep up a little, which might mean more of the usual estrogen-type side effects like nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, or bloating.

That said, I want to be honest about the strength of this. This has only been seen in lab dishes, never confirmed in actual people. So it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Food amounts (grapes, berries) are not a worry. If you take concentrated resveratrol supplements, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on things.

Ethiny Estradiol, Levonorgestrel also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.

Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.

Your birth control pill contains ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel, two hormones that your body partly clears through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In a test tube, resveratrol can slow that same enzyme down, so in theory it could let a little more of these hormones linger in your system. That might mean slightly more of the usual estrogen-related side effects, like nausea, breast tenderness, bloating, or headaches.

Here's the reassuring part: this is based on lab studies only, and real human research found that even high doses of resveratrol (3000 mg daily for 8 weeks) didn't call for any medication adjustments. So it's very unlikely to cause trouble. Still, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor if you plan to take resveratrol regularly.
