Selenium + Cyclophosphamide
Cyclophosphamide brand names: Cytoxan, Neosar.
Selenium has a moderate interaction with Cyclophosphamide. Theoretically, selenium supplementation may reduce the effectiveness of immunosuppressant therapy.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Cyclophosphamide
Cyclophosphamide falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Selenium interacts with.
In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence suggests that selenium may stimulate the immune system.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the idea behind this one. Selenium may give your immune system a little nudge to be more active. Cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan, Neosar) often works in the opposite direction, calming or suppressing the immune system, especially when it's being used for autoimmune conditions or to control certain cancers. So in theory, large selenium doses could work against what the medication is trying to do.
I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes mostly from lab and animal studies, not solid human trials, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. The selenium you get from a normal diet is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplements are the real question. Since cyclophosphamide is serious therapy, please don't start a selenium supplement without checking with your oncologist or pharmacist first.

- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

About Selenium
What is Selenium?
- Thyroid health support
- Antioxidant support
- Immune support
- General nutrient supplementation
- Reproductive/fertility support
Selenium is an essential trace mineral your body needs in small amounts for thyroid function, antioxidant defense, and immune health. Most people who eat a varied diet get enough, and supplements are mainly useful for those who are deficient. Because too much selenium can be toxic, stick to recommended amounts and check with your pharmacist or doctor before supplementing.
About Cyclophosphamide
What Is Cyclophosphamide Used For?
Brand names: Cytoxan, Neosar
Cyclophosphamide is used mainly to treat cancers in adults and, for most products, in children. These include malignant lymphomas (including Hodgkin's disease and Burkitt's lymphoma), multiple myeloma, leukemias, mycosis fungoides, neuroblastoma, ovarian adenocarcinoma, retinoblastoma and breast cancer. It is often used with other cancer drugs.
Some products are also approved for children with biopsy-proven minimal change nephrotic syndrome (a kidney condition) who did not respond to steroids or cannot tolerate them. This use appears on the Cyclophosphamide capsule, tablet and some injection powder labels. It is not listed for Frindovyx or for Cyclophosphamide Injection solution products. One Cyclophosphamide Injection concentrate is for adults only, because of its alcohol and propylene glycol content.

Cyclophosphamide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Cyclophosphamide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Selenium — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
