Hydrochlorothiazide, Methyldopa falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Strophanthus interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of potassium-depleting diuretics and strophanthus can increase the risk of cardiac glycoside toxicity due to potassium depletion. Some diuretics that can deplete potassium include chlorothiazide (Diuril), chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ, Hydrodiuril, Microzide), and others.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with this combo pill: the hydrochlorothiazide part is a water pill that makes you pee out extra fluid, and along with that fluid you lose potassium. When your potassium runs low, your heart becomes more sensitive to cardiac glycosides like the ones in Strophanthus (ouabain). That can tip you toward glycoside toxicity, which may show up as nausea, vision changes (like a yellow-green tinge), dizziness, or an irregular, racing, or slow heartbeat. The methyldopa side lowers blood pressure but doesn't directly drive this issue.

This concern is theoretical, based on how these drugs work rather than hard studies, but Strophanthus is genuinely potent and not a casual supplement. Please don't pair them without your doctor or pharmacist checking your potassium first and supervising closely.
