Here's the gist for your Metaglip (that's glipizide plus metformin, both blood-sugar-lowering medicines). Some early lab and animal studies hint that tamarind seed extract may nudge fasting blood sugar down on its own. If that effect carried over to people, it could stack on top of what your medication is already doing, possibly pushing your sugar too low.

What low blood sugar can feel like with glipizide: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion. Honestly though, this is based on animal research, not solid human studies, so the real-world risk is uncertain. Eating tamarind as a food in normal amounts is very unlikely to be a problem. Concentrated seed extracts are the bigger question mark. Before adding any supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your glucose readings.
