Solifenacin succinate falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Teazle interacts with.

In vitro research suggests that teazle extract can inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity. Theoretically, concurrent use of anticholinergic drugs and teazle might decrease the effectiveness of teazle or the anticholinergic agent.

Here's the gist with Vesicare (solifenacin) and teazle. Solifenacin calms an overactive bladder by blocking certain nerve signals (it's an anticholinergic). Some lab studies suggest teazle does the opposite, gently boosting a chemical messenger called acetylcholine. In theory, these two could work against each other, so your teazle may do less, and your bladder control medicine could feel a little weaker (more urgency, more frequent trips to the bathroom).

I want to be honest with you though: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube research, not real patient studies, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you're considering teazle, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and don't stop your solifenacin on your own.

Teazle (Dipsacus fullonum) is a spiky plant used in traditional and folk medicine, most notably as a tincture marketed for Lyme disease and for joint pain and skin problems. There is very little high-quality human research to support any of these uses, so its benefits remain unproven. Talk with a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, and never use it to replace standard treatment for serious infections like Lyme disease.

What Is Solifenacin Used For?

Brand name: Vesicare

Solifenacin tablets (including the brands solifenacin succinate and VESIcare) are approved for adults with overactive bladder — specifically the symptoms of sudden urges to urinate, leaking urine due to those urges (urge urinary incontinence), and needing to urinate very frequently.

VESIcare LS oral suspension is approved for a different use: treating neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO) — a bladder control problem caused by nerve damage or a nervous system condition — in children aged 2 years and older. This liquid formulation is dosed by the child's weight.
