Prescription thyroid medications, such as Synthroid, are recommended to be taken on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before food and other medications, for optimal absorption.

Here the concern runs in one direction: anything you swallow at the same time as your thyroid extract can get in the way of how well the thyroid hormone is absorbed. Methocarbamol (Robaxin) isn't known to block your thyroid hormone in any meaningful way, so this pairing is considered minor. Methocarbamol isn't a prodrug, and taking it won't make your thyroid supplement weaker or stronger in any dramatic sense.

The simplest move is timing. Thyroid hormone absorbs best on an empty stomach, so I'd take it first, then space your methocarbamol and food at least 30 to 60 minutes later. Since methocarbamol can already make you drowsy or lightheaded, run your full list past your pharmacist so nothing stacks up unexpectedly.

Methocarbamol is used to relieve discomfort associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — things like muscle strains and spasms. It is always used as part of a broader treatment plan that includes rest, physical therapy, and other measures, not on its own.

Atmeksi (methocarbamol oral suspension) is specifically indicated for patients 16 years and older. The injectable forms — including Robaxin injection and methocarbamol injection — are used when a patient needs faster relief or cannot take medicine by mouth.
