Here's the gist with infigratinib (Truseltiq) and tragacanth. Tragacanth is a gel-forming fiber, and when it's sitting in your stomach and gut at the same time as a pill, it can grab onto the medicine and change how much gets absorbed. The honest truth is we don't have studies showing this actually happens with infigratinib. It's a theoretical concern based on how this gum behaves, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

That said, infigratinib is a cancer treatment where getting the right amount into your body really matters, both for it to work and to keep side effects (like high phosphate, eye changes, or stomach upset) predictable. A simple fix: separate them, taking tragacanth 30 to 60 minutes after your infigratinib. Please run this by your oncology team or pharmacist before adding any supplement.

What Is Infigratinib Used For?

  • Infigratinib is used in adults who have received previous therapy to treat a certain type of cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) that has spread to nearby tissues or other parts of the body and cannot be removed by surgery. Infigratinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.
