Infigratinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Adrafinil interacts with.

Theoretically, adrafanil might reduce levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil has been shown to weakly induce CYP3A4 activity.

Here's the connection worth knowing. Your body turns adrafinil into modafinil, and modafinil can mildly speed up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. That same enzyme is responsible for breaking down infigratinib (Truseltiq). So in theory, taking adrafinil could clear infigratinib out of your system a little faster, which might leave you with lower drug levels and a weaker effect against your bile duct cancer.

I want to be honest about how strong this is: it's theoretical, based on how these drugs behave on paper rather than real patient studies. But because infigratinib is a serious cancer treatment where you really want full effect, this isn't one to gamble on. Please don't start any adrafinil product without first running it by your oncologist or pharmacist.

What Is Infigratinib Used For?

  • Infigratinib is used in adults who have received previous therapy to treat a certain type of cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) that has spread to nearby tissues or other parts of the body and cannot be removed by surgery. Infigratinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.
