Tragacanth contains hydrocolloidal fiber which can decrease, increase, or not affect oral drug absorption. To avoid changes in absorption, take tragacanth 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's the thing to know about Tragacanth: it's a gummy fiber that swells into a thick gel in your stomach. The concern is that this gel could grab onto a pill like Isturisa (osilodrostat) as it passes through, possibly changing how much gets absorbed. This isn't a proven effect though. It's a theoretical idea based on how the fiber behaves, not something we've seen play out in real patients.

Since osilodrostat carefully lowers your cortisol levels, you'd rather not have its absorption shift unpredictably. Too little could let cortisol creep back up, and too much could push it down too far. A simple fix covers it: take your osilodrostat first, then wait 30 to 60 minutes before any Tragacanth. As always, run this by your pharmacist or doctor to be safe.
