Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Hydrocortisone
Hydrocortisone falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Trichopus Zeylanicus interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: when hydrocortisone is being used to calm down an overactive immune system (say for arthritis, lupus, or a strong allergic reaction), it works by quieting your immune response. Trichopus zeylanicus has been suggested to do the opposite, gently stimulating the immune system. So in theory, the herb could nudge against what your hydrocortisone is trying to accomplish and make it work a little less effectively.
I want to be honest about how weak this concern is, though. This idea comes only from animal and test-tube studies, not from people, so we really don't know if it matters in real life. Since hydrocortisone is often used for serious conditions, I'd just loop in your doctor or pharmacist before adding this supplement rather than starting it on your own.
