Linagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Vanadium interacts with.

Theoretically, vanadium might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
A few very small clinical studies in patients with type 2 diabetes show that the vanadyl sulfate form of vanadium increases insulin sensitivity and might lower blood glucose levels.

Here's the simple version: Linagliptin (Tradjenta) already works to bring your blood sugar down, and vanadium may nudge it down a little further by making your cells respond better to insulin. Stack the two together and your numbers could dip lower than expected, which means a higher chance of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling foggy or irritable.

I'll be honest about the evidence though. This comes from a handful of very small studies, so the effect is real but modest, not dramatic. The vanadium you get from regular food is harmless here. The concern is concentrated supplement doses. Before adding a vanadium product, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor so they can help you keep an eye on your sugars.

Linagliptin is not for type 1 diabetes, and it has not been studied in people with a history of pancreatitis.
