Ammonium Chloride falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group White Horehound interacts with.

Evidence from animal research suggests that taking white horehound extract lowers blood pressure. Theoretically, taking white horehound with antihypertensive drugs might enhance therapeutic effects and increase the risk of hypotension. Some antihypertensive drugs include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), Amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Here's the honest picture: the interaction on file lumps Ammonium Chloride in with blood pressure medicines, but that's not really how Ammonium Chloride works. It's mainly used as an acidifying agent (to make urine or blood more acidic) and sometimes as an expectorant, not to lower blood pressure. So the idea that white horehound would 'boost' a blood pressure effect doesn't fit this particular drug very well.

On top of that, the blood-pressure-lowering claim for white horehound comes only from animal studies, so it's theoretical at best. I wouldn't expect a real-world problem here, especially with the small amounts found in cough drops. Still, since I can't see your full medication list, it's worth a quick check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
