Azilsartan, Chlorthalidone falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group White Horehound interacts with.

Evidence from animal research suggests that taking white horehound extract lowers blood pressure. Theoretically, taking white horehound with antihypertensive drugs might enhance therapeutic effects and increase the risk of hypotension. Some antihypertensive drugs include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), Amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Edarbyclor pairs two blood pressure lowering medicines: azilsartan (which relaxes your blood vessels) and chlorthalidone (a water pill that helps your body shed extra salt and fluid). White horehound itself may have a mild blood pressure lowering effect, but I want to be honest with you: this comes from animal studies, not solid human research, so it is more of a theoretical concern than a proven one.

If the two did add up, you could feel the signs of blood pressure dropping too low, like dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand, tiredness, or feeling faint. The amount in an old-fashioned cough drop is unlikely to matter. Concentrated extracts are the bigger question mark. Before adding a horehound supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.
