Here's the short version: wormwood contains thujone, a compound that can actually trigger seizures. Clobazam (Onfi, Sympazan) is doing the opposite job, calming down the abnormal electrical activity in the brain that causes seizures. So the worry is that wormwood could work against your medication and make seizures harder to control, which really matters if you or your child is taking it for Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

I'll be honest about the evidence here: this concern comes from lab and animal studies, not from people, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, with a seizure medicine, I'd rather play it safe. Cooking amounts are unlikely to be an issue, but concentrated wormwood supplements are a different story. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

Clobazam is used as an add-on (adjunctive) treatment for seizures linked to Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS), a severe form of childhood-onset epilepsy. It is approved for patients 2 years of age and older.

This indication applies to all available forms: Sympazan (dissolving oral film), Onfi (tablets and oral suspension), and generic clobazam tablets and oral suspension.
