Esomeprazole, Naproxen falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Zizyphus interacts with.

Theoretically, zizyphus might decrease the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Animal research shows that zizyphus induces CYP1A2 enzymes. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Vimovo combines two medicines: esomeprazole (a stomach acid reducer) and naproxen (an anti-inflammatory for pain and swelling). The concern here is that zizyphus may speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which helps clear some drugs. If that happened, these medicines could be broken down a little faster, possibly making them slightly less effective. For the naproxen side, that might mean a bit less pain relief; for the esomeprazole side, slightly weaker heartburn or acid control.

I want to be honest with you though: this is only a theoretical concern based on animal studies, and it has not been shown in people. For most folks this is unlikely to cause a real problem. Still, if you take Vimovo regularly, it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before adding zizyphus.
