by HealthyBiom
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking 65 Billion CFU Protiotics against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This supplement is a proprietary blend of 13 live bacterial strains — the 65 billion CFU (colony-forming units) refers to the total microbial count. The active ingredients are the probiotic bacteria themselves: Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species, plus Streptococcus thermophilus.
Each strain carries its own strain number (like UALp-05 or UABb-10) to identify it precisely. The inactive ingredients are fructooligosaccharide, modified cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide — these are fillers and capsule materials that help deliver the live cultures.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this blend varies by condition. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for IBS and respiratory tract infections. For most other conditions in the data — from allergic rhinitis and anxiety to asthma and cognitive decline — the evidence is insufficient to rate these strains.
Streptococcus thermophilus similarly shows insufficient evidence for the conditions listed (antibiotic-associated diarrhea, bacterial vaginosis, fatty liver disease, constipation, diabetes, and kidney disease related to diabetes). The evidence isn't established in our data for most uses beyond the IBS and respiratory applications noted above.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. The live organisms can occasionally cause mild gastrointestinal side effects — bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea have been reported, though such events are uncommon.
In rare cases, especially in critically ill or severely immunocompromised patients (including preterm infants), the probiotic bacteria themselves can cause serious infections like bacteremia or sepsis; however, these cases are unusual and occur mainly in people with weakened immune systems or indwelling catheters. For pregnancy, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, and Streptococcus thermophilus are rated possibly safe.
Lactobacillus gasseri has no pregnancy/lactation rating on file. If you're pregnant or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist — while these strains are generally considered low risk, safety data are limited.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this, double-check any antibiotic drugs you're on — antibiotics (Moderate severity) may reduce how well the probiotics work. Several strains in this blend contain live organisms that theoretically could decrease in effectiveness if given at the same time as antibiotics, so spacing out doses matters.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help with IBS and some other digestive or respiratory issues, depending on the strain. If you take antibiotics, time this supplement carefully — separate the doses from your antibiotic to protect the live cultures.
If you have a weakened immune system, are critically ill, or have a central line, check with your doctor first. Run your medications through the checker on this page before starting.

65 Billion CFU Protiotics by HealthyBiom Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
HealthyBiom's 65 Billion CFU Probiotics contains multiple bacterial strains, and several of them interact with antibiotic drugs.
The main concern is Moderate severity: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, and Lactobacillus gasseri can all theoretically become less effective if you take them at the same time as antibiotics, because the antibiotics may kill the live organisms in the supplement. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
To protect the probiotic's effectiveness, space out your antibiotic doses and this supplement — your pharmacist or doctor can advise on timing. We could not check several ingredients in this blend: Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus reuteri, Lactobacillus lactis, and Lactobacillus brevis, because we hold no interaction data for them.
One ingredient, Streptococcus thermophilus, has no interactions documented in our data — though that's not a guarantee none exist. Use the medication checker on this page to confirm your specific drugs before you start.
