What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: agaricus mushroom extract in a 4:1 powder form, which means the extract has been concentrated. There are no inactive ingredients listed for this product.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for agaricus mushroom is not yet established for the conditions we have data on. The product may be used for hay fever, bone health, cancer, heart disease, chemotherapy side effects, and Crohn disease, but we don't have reliable evidence to rate how well it works for any of these.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Agaricus mushroom is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth. The most common side effects are abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, and nausea.
Rare serious side effects have been reported, including allergic reactions, liver damage, and a lung condition called interstitial lung disease (ILD). Three cases of severe liver damage occurred in women with ovarian or breast cancer who were undergoing chemotherapy and also took agaricus mushroom; two of these cases were fatal.
Because long-term safety isn't well established, avoid this supplement during pregnancy and breastfeeding — the data simply isn't there to know whether it's safe.
Meds to double-check
