Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), known as "The King of Medicinal Mushrooms," has long been used in folk medicine in the Eastern Hemisphere, especially in Siberia, where legends tell of an amazing birch fungus (or mycelium mass, known as a sclarotia) with miraculous health properties. Records dating back to 1000 B.C. show the use of chaga to balance the body's life force, or "chi", in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Chaga offers an abundance of antioxidants for skin, hair, and nail health, as well as overall support for increased immunity and vitality. Chaga has a mild, earthy, slightly bitter flavor. Our chaga is wildcrafted and hot water extracted for greatest bioavailabiltiy. Chaga can be added to your favorite smoothie, fresh juice, coffee, or tea.

Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) sclerotium extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, chaga may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro and animal research suggests that chaga extract can inhibit platelet aggregation. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking chaga with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research suggests that chaga might decrease blood glucose levels and increase insulin levels. This has not been reported in humans.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, chaga might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
In vitro research suggests that certain constituents of chaga stimulate immune function. This has not been reported in humans.
