Here's the idea behind this pairing. Abrocitinib (Cibinqo) works by turning down your immune system to calm eczema. Some beta-glucans, mainly the yeast and mushroom types, have been studied for the opposite reason: they may gently rev up immune activity. On paper, that tug-of-war could blunt how well your medicine controls your skin, so you might notice more itching or flare-ups.

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern based on lab and early research, not strong human data. The oat and barley beta-glucans most people use for cholesterol are not the immune-boosting kind and are unlikely to matter much. Still, since Abrocitinib affects your immune system, run any beta-glucan supplement past your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Abrocitinib Used For?

Brand name: Cibinqo

Cibinqo (abrocitinib) is used to treat moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children 12 years of age and older. It is specifically for people whose eczema has not been adequately controlled with other systemic (whole-body) treatments, including biologics, or when those treatments are not a safe option.

Cibinqo is not recommended to be used at the same time as other JAK inhibitors, biologic immunomodulators, or other immunosuppressants (medicines that reduce immune system activity).
