Beta-glucans + Minoxidil
Minoxidil brand names: Loniten, Rogaine, Minoxidil.
Beta-glucans has a moderate interaction with Minoxidil. Theoretically, taking beta-glucans with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Minoxidil
Minoxidil falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Beta-glucans interacts with.
Clinical research shows that taking beta-glucans may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure in some hypertensive individuals.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: oat and barley beta-glucans can nudge your blood pressure down a little on their own. Since minoxidil is already a strong vasodilator that relaxes your blood vessels to lower blood pressure, stacking the two could add up and push your pressure a bit lower than you want.
If that happens, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, or notice your heart racing, especially when you stand up quickly. To be clear, this is mostly theoretical and based on weak, anecdotal evidence, and a bowl of oatmeal is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated fiber supplements are more likely to matter. Don't change anything on your own. Just check in with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your numbers.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Minoxidil page
“American hellebore heads the concerns for anyone taking minoxidil (Loniten, Rogaine), because even small amounts of its alkaloids lower blood pressure on their own, a dangerous match with one of the most potent pressure-lowering drugs prescribed. It is one of four major-rated entries among the 139 supplements and herbs on record, and t…”

About Beta-glucans
What is Beta-glucans?
- High cholesterol
- Heart health
- Immune support
- Blood sugar control
- Wound care (topical)
Beta-glucans are natural fibers found in oats, barley, mushrooms, and yeast. The strongest evidence supports the oat and barley types for modestly lowering cholesterol and blood sugar, while immune-related claims from yeast and mushroom sources are far less proven. They are generally well tolerated, but check with your pharmacist before starting any supplement.
About Minoxidil
What Is Minoxidil Used For?
Brand names: Loniten, Rogaine, Minoxidil
Minoxidil tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) — specifically in patients who haven't responded well to other blood pressure medications. They are a powerful option reserved for difficult-to-control cases.
Topical minoxidil products — including solutions, sprays, gels, and foams from many brands — are used to regrow hair on the top of the scalp (called the vertex). Products labeled for men and for women may differ; for example, Bosley MD Regular Strength for Women and Dizop Minoxidil Topical Gel are each labeled for their specific intended users.

Minoxidil Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Minoxidil as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Beta-glucans — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
