What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q-10 at 200 mg per softgel. Coenzyme Q-10 is a compound your cells use to make energy and protect themselves from oxidative damage.
The inactive ingredients are rice bran oil, gelatin, vegetable glycerin, silica, and soy lecithin — these are the capsule and binders that hold the supplement together.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Coenzyme Q-10 is rated likely effective for treating coenzyme Q-10 deficiency. For several other uses — fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy — the evidence suggests it's possibly effective, though research is still evolving.
The data we hold doesn't establish effectiveness for other uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q-10 is generally well tolerated by most adults when used as directed. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — but these occur in fewer than 1% of people taking it.
Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported occasionally. If you're taking doses above 100 mg daily, splitting them throughout the day may help reduce stomach upset.
Safety in pregnancy has not been well studied; talk with your doctor before use. Safety while breastfeeding also hasn't been well studied, so check with your doctor.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications before starting this product. The main concerns are chemotherapy drugs (alkylating agents), warfarin or other blood thinners, and blood pressure medications.
Do not make changes to these without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Coenzyme Q-10 may help if you have a documented deficiency or are exploring it for heart health, migraines, or fibromyalgia — but it's a must-check if you take blood thinners or chemotherapy. Run your medications through the checker on this page before you start.

Co Q-10 200 mg by Nature's Bounty Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Nature's Bounty Co Q-10 200 mg does interact with several important medication types.
The most serious concern is with chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (like cyclophosphamide). Coenzyme Q-10 is an antioxidant, and theoretically it may reduce how well these chemotherapy drugs work, since they rely on generating free radicals to kill cancer cells.
If you're undergoing chemotherapy, talk to your oncologist before starting this supplement.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner, is another major interaction. Coenzyme Q-10 is structurally similar to vitamin K and may have blood-clotting effects that could weaken warfarin's ability to prevent clots.
Four cases of reduced warfarin effectiveness tied to coenzyme Q-10 have been reported. Blood pressure medications are a third concern: coenzyme Q-10 may add to their effect and lower your blood pressure further, though the evidence here is mixed.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to look up your exact drugs before you start.

For each ingredient in Co Q-10 200 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q-10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
