Aliskiren falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Coenzyme Q10 interacts with.

Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.

Here's the simple version: CoQ10 may gently lower blood pressure on its own, and aliskiren (Tekturna) already does that job. Put them together and the effects can add up a bit. This isn't aliskiren building up in your body or being broken down differently. It's just two things nudging your blood pressure in the same direction.

For most people this is minor, and the research is mixed, so it may not move your numbers much at all. But if your pressure dips too low, you could feel dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when standing up. If you'd like to try CoQ10, that's reasonable, just give your doctor or pharmacist a heads-up and keep an eye on your blood pressure readings for a couple of weeks.

What Is Aliskiren Used For?

Brand name: Tekturna

Aliskiren and Tekturna tablets are both approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children who are at least 6 years old and weigh 50 kg (about 110 lbs) or more. Lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like strokes and heart attacks.

Managing blood pressure is usually part of a broader plan that may also include diet changes, exercise, cholesterol control, and other medications. Many people need more than one blood pressure drug to reach their goal.
