This product has 7 active ingredients: a proprietary blend that contains fructooligosaccharides (a type of plant fiber that feeds beneficial gut bacteria), plus five probiotic strains — Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus paracasei, Bifidobacterium longum, and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis — along with a separate probiotics blend. The prebiotics feed your good bacteria; the probiotics add live beneficial organisms to your gut.
The capsules also contain inactive ingredients (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, maltodextrin, stearic acid, and silicon dioxide) as binders and fillers.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. For the other probiotic strains and fructooligosaccharides, the evidence we hold doesn't establish effectiveness — the data shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate them for the conditions tested.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Fructooligosaccharides are generally well tolerated in food amounts but can cause gas, bloating, abdominal pain, and flatulence, especially at higher doses — though a review of clinical trials found that doses of 2.5 to 15 grams daily for up to 8 weeks did not increase these symptoms more than placebo.
Both ingredients can cause gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, and abdominal discomfort in some people. Rare cases of infection from live probiotic bacteria (bacteremia or sepsis) have been reported, mostly in critically ill or immune-compromised patients.
Bifidobacterium longum is considered possibly safe in pregnancy and lactation, but safety data for the other ingredients during pregnancy or breastfeeding are limited or not on file — check with your doctor or pharmacist.

Probiotics
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking antibiotic drugs with certain probiotics might decrease the effectiveness of probiotics.
Many probiotics are bacteria. Since these preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of sensitive organisms. Human research shows that taking probiotic concurrently with antibiotic treatment does not affect the diversity of the gut microbiome compared with antibiotic treatment in the absence of probiotics. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and these preparations by at least two hours.
Antifungals
Theoretically, taking antifungals with certain probiotics might decrease the effectiveness of probiotics.
Some probiotics such as Saccharomyces boulardii are fungi. Therefore, simultaneously taking antifungals might kill a significant number of these organisms.
