Daily Probiotic Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Kyo-Dophilus
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Daily Probiotic against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Daily Probiotic by Kyo-Dophilus
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Kyo-Dophilus contains three active probiotic strains: Bifidobacterium bifidum G9-1, Bifidobacterium longum MM-2, and Lactobacillus gasseri KS-13. These are live, beneficial bacteria designed to support your gut flora.
The capsule also includes inactive ingredients—potato starch, gelatin, and silicon dioxide—which are fillers and binders that help hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence picture is mixed. Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and respiratory tract infections, though the data aren't conclusive.
For Bifidobacterium longum and Lactobacillus gasseri, we don't have enough reliable evidence yet to rate their effectiveness for most of the conditions they're sometimes used for—things like allergic rhinitis, asthma, diarrhea, and common cold. That doesn't mean they don't work; it means the research isn't there yet.
If you're considering this for a specific condition, it's worth talking to your doctor about what the current evidence supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
All three strains are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, those with weakened immune systems should be cautious, and people who are seriously ill should check with their doctor first.
Side effects are typically mild and rare—some people report bloating, flatulence, or mild abdominal discomfort when starting probiotics, though these haven't been specifically documented with Bifidobacterium bifidum alone. Very rare cases of serious infection (bacteremia or sepsis) have occurred in critically ill or immunocompromised patients, but these are uncommon.
For pregnancy and breastfeeding, both Bifidobacterium species are rated possibly safe, but safety data for Lactobacillus gasseri during lactation aren't well established—talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start Kyo-Dophilus, let your doctor or pharmacist know if you take any antibiotic drugs. You'll need to separate the timing of your antibiotics and this probiotic by several hours to keep the antibiotic from reducing how well the probiotic works.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're a generally healthy adult looking to support your gut health, this probiotic is often well tolerated. The main thing to watch is timing with antibiotics—you'll need to space them several hours apart so the antibiotic doesn't kill off the good bacteria.
If you have a weakened immune system, are critically ill, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your doctor or pharmacist first to make sure this is right for you.

Daily Probiotic by Kyo-Dophilus Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Kyo-Dophilus Daily Probiotic interacts with antibiotic drugs through all three of its live bacterial ingredients: Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, and Lactobacillus gasseri.
The interaction is Moderate in severity. Since these probiotics contain live organisms, taking them at the same time as antibiotics can allow the antibiotics to kill off a significant portion of the beneficial bacteria you're trying to ingest, reducing their effectiveness.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The good news is this interaction is easy to manage. You'll want to separate when you take your antibiotics and this probiotic—ask your doctor or pharmacist how far apart to space them (timing varies depending on the antibiotic).
This way, each can do its job without interfering with the other.
Additionally, the remaining ingredients we could not check for interactions include the proprietary blend components. Be sure to run your exact medications through the tool below to confirm there are no other interactions we may not have data on yet.
