HelloPharmacist Scorecard of ecoProbiotic Natural Berry Blend by ecoNugenics
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
ecoProbiotic Natural Berry Blend is a liquid probiotic containing nine active ingredients: live bacterial cultures (Lactococcus lactis, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium longum, L. salivarius, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, and L. casei) plus a synbiotic proprietary blend and prebiotic Pectic Oligosaccharides to feed the beneficial bacteria. The product also contains inactive ingredients—water, molasses, sweetener, and a blend of berry and botanical flavors including blackcurrant, blueberry, ginger, and licorice.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence we hold is limited for most of this product's ingredients. Lactobacillus acidophilus shows possibly effective evidence for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis; it was rated possibly ineffective for atopic disease.
For the other ingredients—Streptococcus thermophilus and Bifidobacterium longum—we have insufficient reliable evidence to rate them for the conditions listed in our data (ranging from antibiotic-associated diarrhea to diabetes and anxiety). For the remaining bacterial strains and the prebiotic, we hold no effectiveness ratings.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Streptococcus thermophilus and Bifidobacterium longum are generally well tolerated in healthy people, though caution is advised for anyone with a weakened immune system—there have been rare reports of serious infections (bacteremia and sepsis) in severely ill or immunocompromised patients, including preterm infants.
Gastrointestinal side effects from L. acidophilus when combined with other probiotics—such as abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, and diarrhea—are uncommon. B. longum can rarely cause abdominal discomfort, constipation, or a dry cough.
For pregnancy: L. acidophilus and Streptococcus thermophilus are rated possibly safe, and B. longum is rated possibly safe for both pregnancy and lactation, though limited data exist. Talk with your doctor before using this product during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, separate them from this product—antibiotics can kill the live bacteria in it and make it less effective. You'll want to space doses by several hours.
Run your full medication list through the checker on this page to be sure, since these interactions span a large number of individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may be worth considering if you're interested in probiotics for digestive or immune support, especially if you have IBS or need help after antibiotic use (since L. acidophilus has possibly effective evidence for those). Hold off or talk to your pharmacist if you take antibiotics regularly, have a weakened immune system, or are critically ill—the live bacteria could be killed off by antibiotics or, rarely, cause serious infection if your immunity is very low.
Pregnant or breastfeeding? Check with your doctor first, though these strains are rated possibly safe.

ecoProbiotic Natural Berry Blend by ecoNugenics Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
ecoProbiotic Natural Berry Blend by ecoNugenics contains nine ingredients, of which we could check three for drug interactions.
Two of those—Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum—do interact with medications. The most serious concern is with antibiotic drugs (a Moderate severity interaction).
Because these probiotic strains contain live organisms, antibiotics can kill them off and reduce their effectiveness. You'll want to space out doses: take your antibiotic at one time of day and this product several hours apart.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
We could not check interaction data for Lactococcus lactis, L. rhamnosus, L. salivarius, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, L. casei, the proprietary bacterial blend itself, or prebiotic Pectic Oligosaccharides—we hold no monographs for these. Streptococcus thermophilus, also in the product, was checked and shows no interactions documented in our data.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
