Low disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 0 of its 4 active ingredients.
  • “Glutamine Matrix Blend (Combination)” is a proprietary blend — the label gives one combined amount (3,000 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

Glutamine MTX contains four active ingredients, all forms of glutamine: L-Glutamine, N-Acetyl L-Glutamine, a Glutamine Matrix Blend (combining various glutamine forms), and L-Glutamine Peptides. Glutamine is an amino acid your body uses for muscle support, immune function, and gut health, especially during stress or recovery.

The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — gelatin, dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, FD&C Blue #1, and titanium dioxide — which are fillers, binders, and colorants that give the capsule its form and stability.

By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Glutamine is generally well tolerated in healthy adults. The most common side effects reported with oral use are belching, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal pain, headache, and musculoskeletal pain — especially at higher doses (10–30 grams daily).

A few rare cases of dizziness and mood changes (mania or hypomania) have been reported in people with bipolar disorder. If you have kidney or liver disease, only use this product under your doctor's supervision.

L-Glutamine is rated likely safe in pregnancy and lactation, but not enough safety data exists for supplemental doses while breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.

Glutamine MTX by Infinite Labs: Common Questions

Does Glutamine MTX by Infinite Labs interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Glutamine MTX has a known interaction with 50 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Glutamine MTX contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is glutamine safe to take while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
L-Glutamine is rated likely safe in pregnancy. During breastfeeding, the data is limited — there isn't enough information to say whether supplemental glutamine is safe. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about what's right for you before taking it while nursing.
What are the most common side effects?
Stomach issues are the main concern: belching, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. Headache and muscle pain have also been reported. These are usually mild, but higher doses (especially 10–30 grams daily) make them more likely.
Will this help with muscle recovery after a workout?
The data shows glutamine is possibly effective for recovery after surgery and critical illness, but we don't have specific information on athletic recovery from exercise. If that's your goal, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it makes sense for you.
Can I take this if I have kidney or liver disease?
You should only use glutamine under medical supervision if you have kidney or liver disease. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting — they'll know whether it's safe and what dose is appropriate for you.
Do I need to worry about the inactive ingredients?
The capsule contains standard fillers and binders — gelatin, dicalcium phosphate, cellulose, silica, magnesium stearate, and food coloring. If you have an allergy or sensitivity to any of these (for instance, you're vegetarian and want to avoid gelatin), check the label or ask your pharmacist.
Is there any risk if I take this with my other medications?
The main concern is anticonvulsant medications — glutamine could theoretically interfere with how they work. For all your other medications, use the interaction checker on this page with your exact drug names, or talk with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure.
