HoloImmune Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Healthy Gut
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking HoloImmune against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of HoloImmune by Healthy Gut
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
HoloImmune contains four active ingredients: two strains of live probiotic bacteria — Lactobacillus acidophilus L-92 and Lactobacillus plantarum L-137 — plus a beta-glucan powder (a type of dietary fiber from fungi and grains) and Lactococcus lactis strain plasma. Together, these are meant to support immune and digestive health.
The capsule shell is made from hypromellose, an inactive binder.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence is strongest for beta-glucans: they're likely effective for lowering cholesterol (dyslipidemia) and supporting heart health (coronary heart disease). Lactobacillus acidophilus L-92 is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bacterial vaginosis, clearing Helicobacter pylori infection, and preventing diarrhea linked to antibiotic use — though the data for each is modest.
We have no effectiveness data on file for Lactococcus lactis strain plasma or Lactobacillus plantarum L-137.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in most adults and children, though combining it with other probiotics may cause gas, bloating, stomach pain, or diarrhea in some people — these side effects are uncommon. Very rarely, live probiotic bacteria have caused serious infections in certain patients (such as bacteremia or sepsis); most experts believe this happens when bacteria from the gut move into the bloodstream in people with underlying conditions.
Beta-glucans from food are generally well tolerated, but concentrated supplements have limited safety data, so use caution. In one trial, a child receiving a high dose of oral beta-glucans developed temporary liver enzyme elevations.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking HoloImmune, double-check with your pharmacist or doctor if you take antibiotic drugs (the probiotic's effectiveness may drop), blood pressure medication (beta-glucans might lower it further), or drugs that suppress your immune system (beta-glucans might work against them). These are the medication types with documented interactions in the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may help with IBS, cholesterol, or heart health, depending on which ingredient does the work — but if you take antibiotics, blood pressure medication, or immune-suppressing drugs, you should check your specific medications first. The live bacteria are generally well tolerated, though gas and bloating can happen.
Talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you have any underlying illness or take prescription drugs.

HoloImmune by Healthy Gut Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
HoloImmune by Healthy Gut contains ingredients with documented interactions: Lactobacillus acidophilus L-92 and beta-glucans both carry Moderate-severity interactions.
The most serious concern is with antibiotics — taking them at the same time as L-92 may reduce the probiotic's effectiveness, since antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the supplement. Altogether, these interactions span 474 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Beta-glucans may lower blood pressure, so combining them with blood pressure medication (antihypertensive drugs) could raise the risk of blood pressure dropping too low (hypotension). They may also interfere with drugs that suppress the immune system (immunosuppressants), since beta-glucans appear to stimulate immune activity.
We could not check two of the four ingredients — Lactococcus lactis strain plasma and Lactobacillus plantarum L-137 — so we hold no interaction data for them. Before you start this product, run your exact medications through the search tool on this page or talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist.
