Mycozol Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by ProEnzol
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Mycozol against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Mycozol by ProEnzol
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Mycozol contains ten ingredients, of which the active components are fruiting body extracts from six medicinal mushrooms — cordyceps, reishi, shiitake, chaga, maitake, and lion's mane — plus beta-glucans (a compound derived from mushroom cell walls) and an ingredient called pHysioProtease. The product also includes oyster mushroom extract and a proprietary mushroom blend.
These are complemented by two inactive ingredients: plant fiber and water.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for Mycozol's effectiveness is limited. Beta-glucan, one of its active components, is rated likely effective for managing cholesterol (dyslipidemia) and heart disease risk.
Most of the mushroom extracts in this product have been studied for various conditions — athletic performance, cognitive function, anxiety, cancer, and diabetes among them — but the data we hold show insufficient evidence to rate them reliably for those uses. Cordyceps is rated possibly ineffective for athletic performance.
The safety and efficacy profile of the product as a whole has not been established.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most of Mycozol's ingredients are generally well tolerated in short-term use, though long-term safety data are sparse. The mushroom extracts may cause gastrointestinal side effects — abdominal discomfort, bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and constipation are the most common reports.
Lion's mane and some others may also cause skin rash or nausea. One rare case tied cordyceps to liver inflammation (hepatitis), though it's unclear whether cordyceps itself or a contaminant was responsible.
Chaga contains high levels of oxalate and has been linked in two cases to kidney failure with excessive use. Raw or inadequately cooked shiitake can cause a rash called shiitake dermatitis and, in rare cases, intestinal blockage.
Long-term safety of these concentrated supplements in pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been studied — the safety data advise against use in both situations. If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk with your pharmacist or doctor before taking this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Mycozol, double-check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (Moderate risk), diabetes or blood pressure medications (Moderate), immunosuppressants (Moderate), drugs metabolized by the enzyme CYP2D6 such as certain antidepressants (Moderate), or testosterone therapy (Minor). If you take warfarin specifically, discuss maitake mushroom use directly with your pharmacist or doctor.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Mycozol is a mushroom and beta-glucan blend with some evidence behind beta-glucan for cholesterol and heart health, but limited evidence for the mushroom extracts themselves. If you take blood thinners (especially warfarin), diabetes drugs, blood pressure medications, immunosuppressants, or certain antidepressants and pain relievers, check your specific medications with the tool on this page before starting — the interaction risk is real and moderate.
Generally well tolerated, but not studied long-term, and off-limits in pregnancy and breastfeeding without your doctor's sign-off.

Mycozol by ProEnzol Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Mycozol by ProEnzol contains ten ingredients, and several of them have documented interactions with medications.
The most serious finding involves Maitake Mushroom Fruiting Body Extract and warfarin (a blood thinner), where a case report showed that maitake may increase warfarin's effects, raising bleeding risk — this is a Moderate severity interaction that needs direct pharmacist review if you take warfarin.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Beyond warfarin, you'll want to check your medications against several drug categories. Multiple ingredients — cordyceps, reishi, chaga, lion's mane, and beta-glucans — may interact with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (such as aspirin or clopidogrel) and raise bleeding risk (Moderate).
Cordyceps, reishi, shiitake, chaga, lion's mane, and beta-glucans all may interfere with immunosuppressants used after transplant or for autoimmune conditions (Moderate). Reishi, chaga, maitake, and lion's mane may have additive effects with diabetes medications and increase low blood sugar risk (Moderate).
Reishi, maitake, and beta-glucans may lower blood pressure and combine with blood pressure drugs to cause dizziness or weakness (Moderate). Shiitake may reduce levels of certain drugs metabolized by the enzyme CYP2D6, which includes some antidepressants and pain relievers (Moderate).
Cordyceps may theoretically have additive effects if you're taking testosterone (Minor).
We could not check three other ingredients: oyster mushroom extract, pHysioProtease, and turkey tail extract. Altogether, these interactions span 655 individual medications.

For each ingredient in Mycozol with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Reishi Mushroom Fruiting Body Extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, high doses of reishi mushroom might increase the risk of bleeding.
A dose of 1.5 grams daily of reishi mushroom does not seem to decrease platelet aggregation, but a higher dose of 3 grams daily does.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, reishi mushroom might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research suggests that reishi mushroom decreases blood sugar. However, in patients with type 2 diabetes, taking reishi mushroom does not reduce fasting glucose levels, and its effects on glycated hemoglobin are inconsistent.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, concurrent use of reishi mushroom with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Reishi mushroom has shown hypotensive activity in animal research. Clinical evidence suggests that reishi mushroom reduces blood pressure in some, but not all, patients with hypertension.
Chaga Mushroom Fruiting Body Extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, chaga may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro and animal research suggests that chaga extract can inhibit platelet aggregation. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking chaga with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research suggests that chaga might decrease blood glucose levels and increase insulin levels. This has not been reported in humans.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, chaga might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
In vitro research suggests that certain constituents of chaga stimulate immune function. This has not been reported in humans.
Lion's Mane Fruiting Body Extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, lion's mane mushroom may increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro research suggests that lion's mane mushroom extracts can inhibit platelet aggregation.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, lion's mane mushroom may have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research suggests that an aqueous extract of lion's mane mushroom can reduce serum glucose and increase serum insulin.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, concurrent use of lion's mane mushroom might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
In animal and in vitro research, lion's mane mushroom polysaccharides stimulate the immune system.
Shiitake Mushroom fruiting body extract
Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates
Theoretically, shiitake mushroom might decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro studies suggest that the shiitake mushroom extract AHCC might induce the CYP2D6 enzyme. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, taking shiitake mushroom might decrease the effects of immunosuppressive therapy.
In vitro evidence suggests that shiitake mushroom extracts stimulate immune function.
Beta-Glucan
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking beta-glucans with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Clinical research shows that taking beta-glucans may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure in some hypertensive individuals.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, beta-glucans might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
Some clinical research shows that beta-glucans have immunostimulant effects.
Maitake Mushroom Fruiting Body Extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, combining maitake mushroom with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research shows that taking maitake mushroom polysaccharide (MMP) can lower blood glucose levels in patients with types 2 diabetes.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, combining maitake mushroom with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research shows that maitake mushroom can lower blood pressure.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
There is limited evidence that maitake mushroom may increase the anticoagulant effects of warfarin.
In a case report, a patient previously stabilized on warfarin developed an elevated international normalized ratio (INR) of 5.1 after taking maitake mushroom (Grifron-Pro Maitake D-Fraction) 1 drop/kg daily in three divided doses for one week. The elevated INR resolved after holding warfarin for two days, then reducing the dose by 11%. It is thought that the beta-glucan constituent of maitake mushroom might cause warfarin dissociation from proteins, resulting in increased free warfarin levels and increased warfarin effects.
Cordyceps Fruiting Body Extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, cordyceps may increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
In vitro and animal research suggests that cordyceps extract inhibits platelet aggregation and function. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, concurrent use of cordyceps might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
Animal and in vitro research suggests that cordyceps stimulates the immune system. However, limited clinical research suggests that taking cordyceps may lower the necessary therapeutic dose of the immunosuppressant cyclosporine, which suggests that cordyceps may have an immunosuppressive effect.
Testosterone
Theoretically, concurrent use of cordyceps and testosterone might have additive effects.
Animal research suggests that cordyceps can increase testosterone levels. The clinical significance of this finding is unclear.
