ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Antithrombin III
Antithrombin III falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.
A dose of 1.5 grams daily of reishi mushroom does not seem to decrease platelet aggregation, but a higher dose of 3 grams daily does.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version. Antithrombin III (Thrombate III) is a clot-controlling protein given by IV, usually in a hospital, to help prevent dangerous clots in people who are low on this natural blood factor. Reishi mushroom hasn't been shown to directly change how Antithrombin III works. The concern is more about adding up. At higher doses (around 3 grams a day), reishi may make your platelets a little less sticky, which could nudge your overall bleeding risk upward when you're already on a blood thinner.
The evidence here is weak and mostly theoretical, based on lab and animal work, so don't panic. Still, with any blood thinner I'd want you to mention reishi to your doctor or pharmacist first, and watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that won't stop.

- Heart and cholesterol health
Reishi is a traditional Asian mushroom widely used to support the immune system and overall wellness.
