Rosemary extract is possibly effective for memory support based on available evidence. For other uses—including age-related cognitive decline, alopecia areata (patchy hair loss), and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease—the evidence in our data is insufficient to rate whether it works.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
In normal culinary amounts, rosemary is considered safe. However, concentrated extracts and undiluted essential oil require caution.
Topical use can cause allergic reactions, lip and gum swelling, allergic contact dermatitis, and in sensitive people, photosensitivity and skin inflammation. There is a rare reported risk of occupational asthma from inhalation exposure.
Orally, undiluted rosemary oil and its camphor content may trigger seizures in susceptible individuals. During pregnancy, food amounts are likely okay, but medicinal doses are possibly unsafe and should be avoided—talk with your doctor or pharmacist about what's right for you.
For breastfeeding, food amounts are likely fine, but there isn't enough safety data on medicinal doses, so it's best to avoid them and check with your healthcare provider.

Rosemary leaf extract powder
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, rosemary may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro and animal research suggests that rosemary inhibits platelet aggregation.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking rosemary with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that rosemary extract can decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic models. However, research in humans is conflicting. Although rosemary powder decreased blood glucose levels in healthy adults, no change in blood glucose levels was seen in adults with type 2 diabetes, most of whom were taking antidiabetes drugs.
Aspirin
Theoretically, rosemary might have additive effects with salicylate-containing drugs such as aspirin.
Rosemary is reported to contain salicylates.
Choline Magnesium Trisalicylate (Trilisate)
Theoretically, rosemary might have additive effects with salicylate-containing drugs such as choline magnesium trisalicylate.

Salsalate (Disalcid)
