Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: shilajit extract at 400 mg per capsule. Shilajit is a mineral-rich substance traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine.
The capsule itself is made from plant-based materials, along with microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence we have doesn't establish that shilajit works reliably for the claims often made about it. Insufficient reliable evidence exists for Alzheimer disease, sexual dysfunction, athletic performance, benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate), and osteopenia (low bone density).
If you're considering this for any of those reasons, talk with your pharmacist or doctor about what the science actually supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Shilajit is generally well tolerated, though a small number of cases show it can trigger allergic reactions — including one instance of anaphylaxis (a severe whole-body reaction) when combined with physical activity. Headache has been reported rarely in clinical research.
Because unpurified shilajit may contain heavy metals or other contaminants, use only purified, tested brands like this one. Shilajit is not recommended during pregnancy due to insufficient safety data and contamination risk, and should be avoided while breastfeeding since safety is unknown.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check any antidiabetes drugs you take (like metformin, glibenclamide, or insulin) with the search tool below — shilajit may increase your risk of low blood sugar when combined with these medications. No other drug interactions are documented for the ingredient we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is for people interested in shilajit's traditional uses, but the evidence for most claimed benefits isn't solid yet. If you take any diabetes medication, check your specific drugs before starting — shilajit can lower blood sugar further.
Talk to your pharmacist if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any allergies before taking it.

Shilajit 400 mg by Evlution Nutrition Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Shilajit 400 mg by Evlution Nutrition has one documented interaction type we need to flag.
Shilajit can enhance the blood-sugar-lowering effect of antidiabetes drugs (like metformin and glibenclamide), which raises your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Animal studies show it amplifies how well these medications work, so if you take any diabetes medication, you'll want to check your specific drugs with the tool below before starting this.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Alone, shilajit appears to lower fasting blood sugar on its own, so combining it with prescription diabetes drugs is a real concern. We have no interaction data for other drug types, but that doesn't mean none exist — we simply haven't checked them.
Run your exact medications through the search tool on this page before you add this supplement.

Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking shilajit with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Most human and animal research shows that shilajit can decrease fasting plasma glucose levels. In an animal model, shilajit 100 mg per kg daily enhanced the glucose-lowering ability of both glibenclamide and metformin when given in combination over a 4 week period. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
