Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: shilajit, a naturally occurring mineral-rich substance. The capsule itself is made from VeganCaps (a plant-based capsule material).

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Shilajit product and its label doesn't state a use — see Shilajit's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for shilajit is limited. Our data rates it as having insufficient reliable evidence to assess its use for Alzheimer disease, sexual dysfunction, athletic performance, benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate), and osteoporosis.

This doesn't mean it doesn't work — it means human research hasn't established benefit yet.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Shilajit is generally well tolerated, though a small number of adverse effects are on record. Headache has been reported rarely in clinical trials.

One case of a severe allergic reaction, including anaphylaxis (a life-threatening whole-body reaction), has been documented — the person had taken it before without incident but developed hives and anaphylaxis at a higher dose combined with physical activity. One case of elevated blood pressure related to mineral imbalance appeared after 6 months of use during pregnancy, though it's unclear whether shilajit caused it.

Because unpurified shilajit may contain heavy metals or contaminants, use only tested, purified brands. There isn't enough safety data to recommend shilajit during pregnancy.

Safety while breastfeeding is unknown, so it should be avoided. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Shilajit.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 86 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take any antidiabetes drugs (including metformin, glibenclamide, or other medications to lower blood sugar), check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product — shilajit may enhance their blood sugar–lowering effect and raise the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

Taking shilajit with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Most human and animal research shows that shilajit can decrease fasting plasma glucose levels. In an animal model, shilajit 100 mg per kg daily enhanced the glucose-lowering ability of both glibenclamide and metformin when given in combination over a 4 week period. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
