Total Gut Health has 5 ingredients, two of which are active probiotics. Saccharomyces boulardii is a live yeast that's been studied for support during and after diarrhea — including traveler's diarrhea, antibiotic-related diarrhea, and a few other gut conditions.
DE111 (Bacillus subtilis) is a live spore-forming bacterium also studied for antibiotic-associated diarrhea. The other three — Turkey Tail, PreforPro, and a Polyphenols Blend — are additional botanicals or prebiotic ingredients.
The capsules also contain rice dextrin, cellulose, and water as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Saccharomyces boulardii is possibly effective for rotaviral diarrhea, traveler's diarrhea, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, necrotizing enterocolitis, Clostridioides difficile infection, and Helicobacter pylori infection. DE111 (Bacillus subtilis) is possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea but has insufficient evidence for athletic performance, cirrhosis, constipation, eczema, or diabetes.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Both live probiotics in this product are generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but the evidence is limited and quality can vary by product and strain. Rare side effects from Saccharomyces boulardii include abdominal cramps, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite — and, very rarely, a serious yeast infection (fungemia) in people who are critically ill, have central lines, or are receiving broad-spectrum antibiotics.
DE111 has rarely caused headache or diarrhea in trials, and there are rare case reports of serious infection (bacteremia and meningitis) in people with compromised immunity who frequently consume fermented foods containing Bacillus. If you're immunocompromised, critically ill, or in intensive care, check with your doctor before using this product.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bacillus subtilis with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. subtilis.
Since B. subtilis preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. subtilis preparations by at least 2 hours.
Saccharomyces boulardii
Antifungals
Theoretically, taking antifungals with Saccharomyces boulardii might decrease the effectiveness of Saccharomyces boulardii.
S. boulardii is a live yeast. Therefore, simultaneously taking antifungals might kill a significant number of the organisms.
