TriActive Biotics Daily Care Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking TriActive Biotics Daily Care against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of TriActive Biotics Daily Care by Essential Source
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
TriActive Biotics Daily Care is a 21-ingredient powder with multiple strains of live beneficial bacteria (probiotics) plus digestive enzymes. The active ingredients are the probiotic bacteria — Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains plus Streptococcus thermophilus — along with three fungal enzymes (Protease, Amylase, and Lactase) to help break down food.
The product also contains a prebiotic to feed the good bacteria. The inactive ingredients include xanthan gum, xylitol, inulin, natural flavor, medium chain triglycerides, malic acid, rebaudioside A, and glycerol ester — these are fillers and binders that help deliver and stabilize the formula.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this product's probiotic strains is mixed. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome and respiratory tract infections. Lactobacillus plantarum and several other strains have insufficient evidence on file for most conditions we checked.
Lactase (the enzyme for lactose) is effective for lactose intolerance. The other enzymes and most of the probiotic strains lack established effectiveness data in our records for the conditions we looked up.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most ingredients in this product are generally well tolerated by healthy adults. However, a few cautions apply: Protease should be avoided during pregnancy unless prescribed, and breastfeeding use isn't recommended without medical advice.
Lactase is likely low risk in pregnancy but check with your doctor first; breastfeeding use also requires consultation. The four probiotic strains with interaction data (Bifidobacterium breve, L. acidophilus, B. bifidum, and B. longum) carry a general caution for people with weakened immune systems — if you're critically ill, severely immunocompromised, a preterm infant, or have indwelling catheters, talk to your doctor before starting.
Rare allergic reactions and digestive upset (bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort) have been reported with probiotics and enzymes, and occupational exposure to powdered proteolytic enzymes has caused allergic rhinitis and asthma in some workers.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take any antibiotic drugs, tell your pharmacist before starting this product — four of the probiotic strains may lose effectiveness if taken at the same time. You'll likely need to separate them by a few hours.
No other medication types show documented interactions with the ingredients we were able to check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
TriActive Biotics Daily Care is designed for people wanting daily digestive and immune support through probiotics and enzymes. If you're taking antibiotics, space them several hours apart from this product to protect the live bacteria.
If you're immunocompromised, critically ill, or pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your doctor or pharmacist first — each ingredient has its own safety profile. Run your current medications through the checker below before you start.

Microencapsulated probiotic Prebiotic blend Digestive enzyme 30 day supply Powder blend
TriActive Biotics Bac5 Activity is a process by which the prebiotic is delivered to the acidic environment of the stomach to balance the pH, and discourage the growth of unfriendly bacteria. It also causes bacterial multiplication for the protected probiotic blend, which is delivered safely to the intestine through microencapsulation. Microencapsulated probiotics have been shown in human clinical trials to colonize/adhere up to 5x better than typical or uncoated strains.
Simply put... 6 billion CFU of TriActive Biotics DC, is equal to or greater than 30 billion CFU of uncoated strains!

TriActive Biotics Daily Care by Essential Source Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
TriActive Biotics Daily Care by Essential Source contains several probiotic strains that interact with antibiotic drugs.
The most serious documented interaction is Moderate severity: four of the probiotic strains (Bifidobacterium breve, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Bifidobacterium longum) may decrease in effectiveness when taken together with antibiotics, since antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the product. To get the full benefit of both, you'll want to space them apart — ask your pharmacist how many hours apart is best for your specific antibiotic.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
We could not check several other ingredients in this product for interactions: Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, Amylase (Fungal), Lactobacillus plantarum LP01, Bifidobacterium lactis BS01, Lactobacillus plantarum LP09, Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR06, Lactobacillus casei LC03, Lactobacillus reuteri LRE02, Bifidobacterium infantis BI02, Lactobacillus salivarius subsp. salivarius CRL1328, Bifidobacterium lactis BA05, and Cellulase (Fungal) — we hold no data on these. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Two enzymes we checked — Protease (Fungal) and Lactase (Fungal) — and Streptococcus thermophilus YO8 show no interactions documented in our data. That's not a guarantee no interactions exist, so use the medication checker on this page to verify your exact drugs before starting.
