Fluphenazine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, strongly inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme.

Here's the concern with pairing this supplement and fluphenazine. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear fluphenazine out of your system. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a hidden stimulant called BMPEA, and in lab testing BMPEA strongly blocks that same enzyme. If it slows your body's clearance of fluphenazine, the drug could build up and you might notice stronger side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, muscle stiffness, restlessness, or those uncomfortable tremor-type movements.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's based on test-tube data, not real people, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, the stimulant adulteration alone is reason enough to be careful. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before trying any product like this.

What Is Fluphenazine Used For?

Brand names: Prolixin, Permitil, Fluphenazine

Fluphenazine hydrochloride tablets and oral solution are indicated for the management of psychotic disorders. Fluphenazine Hydrochloride Injection is also used for psychotic disorders and can bridge patients to oral therapy.

Fluphenazine Decanoate Injection is a long-acting form specifically intended for patients who need extended antipsychotic treatment — for example, those with chronic schizophrenia who benefit from a single injection that can last up to four weeks or longer. It is not approved for behavioral problems related to intellectual disability, and it is not approved for dementia-related psychosis in elderly patients.
