Omeprazole, Sodium Bicarbonate falls under PROTON PUMP INHIBITORS (PPIs) — the group Aletris interacts with.

Theoretically, due to reports that aletris increases stomach acid, aletris might decrease the effectiveness of PPIs. PPIs include omeprazole (Prilosec), lansoprazole (Prevacid), rabeprazole (Aciphex), pantoprazole (Protonix), and esomeprazole (Nexium).

Here's the gist with Konvomep (omeprazole plus sodium bicarbonate). This medicine works by quieting down the acid pumps in your stomach, which helps with heartburn, reflux, and ulcers. There's an old, theory-based idea that aletris may nudge stomach acid up a bit. If that's true, it could work against what your omeprazole is trying to do, possibly leaving you with more heartburn or a sour, acidy feeling.

I'll be honest with you though, this is very weak, anecdotal evidence, and it's rated as only a minor concern. For most folks it's unlikely to be a real problem. Still, since aletris isn't well studied, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
