Arabinoxylan + Dicloxacillin Sodium
Dicloxacillin Sodium brand names: Dynapen, Pathocil, Dycill, Pathocil Injection.
We found no known interaction between Arabinoxylan and Dicloxacillin Sodium in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the label for Dicloxacillin Sodium states a food rule worth keeping to, and the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Arabinoxylan and Dicloxacillin Sodium
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Dicloxacillin Sodium and Arabinoxylan in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Dicloxacillin Sodium
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Dicloxacillin Sodium is filed under 5 classifications — including penicillin, antibiotic drugs, nephrotoxic drugs. Arabinoxylan has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being antidiabetes drugs (moderate) — and none of Dicloxacillin Sodium’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Arabinoxylan Does Interact With Other Medications
Arabinoxylan has 86 moderate known drug interactions in our database — Dicloxacillin Sodium isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

Some Dicloxacillin Sodium Products Have a Food Rule — Arabinoxylan Should Not Break It
At least one FDA label for a product containing Dicloxacillin Sodium says to take it on an empty stomach. Most supplements — Arabinoxylan included — are taken with a meal, so the easy mistake is swallowing both together at breakfast. Where that rule applies, keep Dicloxacillin Sodium on its own and move Arabinoxylan to a meal later in the day.
This may not be true of your version. Food instructions belong to the product, not the ingredient: two Dicloxacillin Sodium products can carry different directions, and extended-release forms often differ from immediate-release ones. The label we read is quoted below — check the directions on your own box or bottle, or ask your pharmacist, for how to take the exact product you were given.
Patients weighing less than 40 kg (88 lbs) DRUG ADULTS CHILDREN Mild to Moderate Severe Mild to Moderate Severe Dicloxacillin 125 mg every 6 hours 250 mg every 6 hours 12.5 mg/kg/day 1 in equally divided doses every 6 hours 25 mg/kg/day 1 in equally divided doses every 6 hours Dicloxacillin is best absorbed when taken on an empty stomach, and should be administered at least 1 hour before or 2 hour
From the Dosage and Administration section of the FDA label we read for Dicloxacillin Sodium — where that label names a specific product, the instruction is that product's. Read the label on DailyMed ›
A food rule is not an interaction — it is about how much of the medicine you absorb. The directions that came with your own product, and your pharmacist, outrank anything on this page.
See Every Supplement That Interacts With Dicloxacillin Sodium
This page covers Arabinoxylan only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Dicloxacillin Sodium page lists 56 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Asarabacca (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), Aristolochia (moderate) and Bacillus Coagulans (moderate).
By severity: 3 major · 42 moderate · 11 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dicloxacillin Sodium page
“The riskiest pairing on this page is Siberian cocklebur with dicloxacillin (Dynapen), an antibiotic for staph skin and soft tissue infections. Both can stress the kidneys, and that additive strain accounts for one of the three major ratings among 56 supplements here, enough that this list warrants real care.”

About Arabinoxylan
What is Arabinoxylan?
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive and gut health (prebiotic)
- Cholesterol and triglyceride support
- Immune support
- Metabolic syndrome
Arabinoxylan is a type of dietary fiber found in cereal grains that acts as a prebiotic and may modestly affect blood sugar and blood fats. The evidence for most uses is early and limited, so it should not replace proven treatments. If you are considering it, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Fiber extracted from the cell walls of cereal grains (such as wheat bran, rice bran, corn, rye, oat, and barley) · Powder, capsules, and a modified rice-bran product known as MGN-3 (Biobran)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Arabinoxylan is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Arabinoxylan record says about it on its own.
Arabinoxylan: dosing
There is no official or standardized dose of arabinoxylan, and amounts used in studies have varied widely depending on the product and the goal. The best approach is to follow the directions on the specific product label and to start low and increase slowly to limit gas and bloating.

About Dicloxacillin
What Is Dicloxacillin Used For?
Brand names: Dynapen, Pathocil, Dycill, Pathocil Injection
Dicloxacillin sodium capsules treat infections caused by staphylococci (staph bacteria) that make penicillinase and are shown to be susceptible to the drug. Penicillinase is an enzyme that destroys many penicillins.
Your prescriber may start it before lab results are back if a resistant staph infection is suspected. It should not be used for infections caused by bacteria that regular penicillin G can treat. If tests show a different type of bacteria, it should be stopped.
