These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Bael interacts with whole categories of medication. Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Bael in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Minor).
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone
Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Bael interacts with.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others. Use bael cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
In this combo product, the piece that interacts with bael is the caffeine. Caffeine is cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, and lab studies suggest bael may slow that enzyme down. If it does, caffeine could linger longer in your system, which might mean more jitteriness, a racing heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired. The aspirin and hydrocodone parts aren't really affected through this pathway.
Here's the reassuring part: this is only a theoretical concern seen in test-tube studies, not something reported in actual people, and the effect is rated minor. Everyday culinary amounts of bael are unlikely to cause trouble. Still, if you take concentrated bael supplements regularly, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on things.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others. Use bael cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination pill pairs aspirin and caffeine with hydrocodone, an opioid for pain. The piece that interacts here is hydrocodone, which your liver partly processes through an enzyme called CYP3A4. In a lab dish, compounds in bael slowed that enzyme down. In theory, if hydrocodone clears a little more slowly, you could feel more of its effects, like extra drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing.
Here's the honest part: this is only test-tube data and has never been shown to happen in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The caffeine in this product is also handled by that same enzyme, so jitteriness could in theory linger a bit longer. To be safe, just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding concentrated bael supplements.

About Bael
What is Bael?
- Diarrhea and dysentery
- Indigestion and other digestive complaints
- Constipation
- Blood sugar support
- General wellness in traditional medicine
Bael is a fruit-bearing tree long used in traditional Indian (Ayurvedic) medicine, mostly for digestive problems like diarrhea and indigestion. Modern human evidence for its medicinal benefits is very limited, so it should be viewed mainly as a food and traditional remedy rather than a proven treatment. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using bael as a supplement, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a health condition.
