Your medicine combines two ingredients that lower blood pressure: reserpine, which calms the nervous system signals that tighten blood vessels, and trichlormethiazide, a water pill that helps your body shed extra fluid and salt. Banaba leaf is mainly taken for blood sugar, but research in people and animals suggests it can gently nudge blood pressure down too.

So the concern here is additive, meaning banaba may add to the lowering effect of your medicine. If your pressure dips too low, you could feel dizzy, lightheaded, or faint, especially when standing up quickly. The evidence for this is on the weaker side, but it's worth watching. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Just check in with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your readings if they say it's okay to try.
