Your medicine combines belladonna with phenobarbital, and phenobarbital is a barbiturate that already calms the brain and can leave you feeling drowsy, foggy, or unsteady on your feet. The concern here is simple to picture: berberine has shown some sedative-like activity in animal studies, so pairing the two could, in theory, stack their calming effects together. That might mean more sleepiness, slower thinking, or dizziness than you'd expect from your medicine alone.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes from lab and animal work, not human studies, so it's more of a maybe than a sure thing. Still, since phenobarbital is potent on its own, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding berberine rather than starting it on your own.
