Here's the heart of it: the phenobarbital in your Bellophen or Susano is a barbiturate, and barbiturates already slow down your brain and your breathing. GHB does the very same thing. Stack the two together and you don't just add their effects, you can multiply them. That means heavier sedation, dangerously slow or shallow breathing, deep unresponsiveness, and a real risk of slipping into a coma.

This pairing is rated a major concern, and even though much of the proof is anecdotal, the danger is very believable given how both act. GHB outside of a prescribed setting is especially risky and unpredictable. Please don't combine these. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything new with your phenobarbital.

Theoretically, GHB may reduce the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
GHB has been reported to cause seizures, and may theoretically reduce the effectiveness of anticonvulsants. Also, concomitant use of GHB with sedative anticonvulsants may increase the risk of serious CNS and respiratory depression.

Let me be upfront here: GHB isn't a safe supplement at all. It's a controlled substance and a serious central nervous system depressant, so this isn't a combination I'd ever want you experimenting with. The medication you're asking about contains phenobarbital, which is itself a barbiturate that slows down brain and breathing activity, plus belladonna. Stacking two heavy sedatives like this is the main worry.

There are really two concerns. First, piling GHB on top of phenobarbital can deepen sedation dangerously, leading to extreme drowsiness, slowed or stopped breathing, and even coma. Second, GHB has been linked to seizures, which could theoretically work against the very seizure control phenobarbital is meant to provide. The evidence is mostly anecdotal, but the risk is real enough that I'd urge you to talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything with this medicine.

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
